Seagrass Buyers Guide
Seagrass is grown in the paddy fields of rural China. This region is known for cultivating the finest quality seagrass fibre.
Salt water plays a key role in the production of seagrass and there are related species that grow naturally in shallow seas. Though not strictly a grass, seagrass has a distinctive hay-like scent that is mainly lost after it is harvested. The appeal of seagrass stems from its tones of beige, brown and green that are evident even when the fibres are spun into yarn.
